I was born to paint. As a child I spent every free moment I had drawing and painting. I had to put everything on hold when I got married and had kids because when I paint I put all my attention into what I am doing and that did not mesh with family life.

In 2000, when I was confined to bed with a foot injury I started to paint again. That was the beginning of my career as an artist, and it snowballed from there.

The first time I showed my work, was in 2000 at the "Women In Art" exhibition. Subsequently, I showed in similar exhibitions from time to time.

In November 2002, I was in a joint exhibition with my sisters, Susan Hale and Patsy Yee Foon. I showed 24 pieces and the exhibition was a great success.

Due to other commitments I only painted part time and sold most of my work privately. I do a lot of work by commission, something I really love as I know I am painting something that means a lot to my client.

I started Full Circle because I had reached a stage in my life where I wanted to use my artistic talents fully. The art gallery came about because I had a number of paintings I had done and realized there was nowhere where I could sell the pieces as if they were part of a joint exhibition. That is how I came up with the concept of a gallery where a number of local artist showed a few pieces of their work. Unfortunately, due to circumstance beyond my control, I had to shut the business down prematurely and am once again a full time artist. This has been a dream of mine for my whole life and as I have been saying lately “you have to be careful for what you wish for as you may get it”. Your wishes may not come to you in a way you were expecting. If I still had my business I would not have had the time to realize this dream. I exchanged one dream for another.

I now sell my paintings in Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados and am hoping to branch out to other islands in the Caribbean.
